Replacing Awning Fabric on '72 Sovereign - Tips?

Hi All,
I'm brand new to the group.
We recently purchased a 72 Sovereign and were planning on purchasing new awning fabric through ZipDee. (the hardware is all in great shape but fabric is 50% duct tape) However, when I called, they said that since it is not originally a ZipDee, they cannot replace the fabric unless we buy new hardware as well. The arm says it is an "E-Z Awn". A google search didnt get me far.
Any tips? Central Texas area resources?
Thanks!

PPL Motorhomes out of Houston is a good general source for non-Airstream-specific parts (appliances, fixtures, etc.) and they list "universal" replacement fabric available by measurement.

I've never heard of E-Z Awn and a search in that direction leads mostly to rooftop tents for SUVs and jeeps... interesting, but not what you're looking for.

I've no experience with this vendor, and they seem to specialize in awnings. RVAwningsMart might be worth a call.

A picture of the awning hardware might help.

I use my local awning and tarp business. They use Sunbrella fabric, your choice of colors....by the way go to a Sunbrella seller on Ebay and pick what you want....take it to the Awning shop and ....voilla...your set. You can then take the whole mess to an RV shop to install the material and set up the awning. This can be a dangerous job for the uninformed.

E Z Awn has been out of business for many years.

If you have a fabric awning that fits your hardware, even it if is in bad shape, it is possible to copy it in new fabric. Sunbrella has excellent decay resistance.

If you don't feel up to tackling it yourself, RV places or boat repair shops should be able to do it for you. We did ours, but I had access to an industrial walking foot sewing machine. I probably could have done it on my Kenmore, but it would have been harder and wouldn't have looked as nice. There are some pictures and details in our blog here: Tin Pickle Adventures: New Awning - sewing and metal repair
