Removing the Upper Brackets for Caulking

Is it safe to remove the upper brackets while the awning is rolled up to facilitate caulking the brackets?

Hmmm I'd be careful!

I think you have to let the tension off of the springs first.

Find a manual for your awning and follow the steps.

I've just removed my awning as it was the source of a leak.

Jon & KJ,
My bracket is loose also! Did you have to use a larger bolt? Are there threads behind the exterior? I'm hoping that I just lost a bolt and I have to seal & replace fasteners(bolts)!

So on my awning it was possible to undo the bolts and calk behind with out undoing the torsion. There was a place for a coder pin. I highly recommend getting a manual for the particular model you are working on.

The rear bracket on my awning is loose on a 2007 Bambi. I never saw a response on if you can tighten or need a bigger screw. Anyone have advice?
