Removed awning...
How do I repair the holes along the top and bracket holes?
Silicone? Presently they are all are covered with duct tape

Rivets? Big 'uns, ah reckon. With Vulkem in the hole first. Or a li'l aluminum patch, if them holes is 2 big.

Say No To Silicone!
Use rivets and vulkem.

I KNEW IT!!!
RIVETS and Vulkem was kinda hoping it was something I had already worked with ...BUT NO...Learning Again... My guess, its another learning curve of type of and size of rivet question. I have become quite the expert in drilling out rivets

I repair small holes by drilling them out then put in a dab of vulkem or similar butyl based sealant. I then put in an olympic rivet and grind off the stem with a dremel tool. Not as neat as a rivet shaver but it works quite well.
The nice thing about rivets is that you can drill them out again when/if you decide to replace the awning. Even though I left the gasket on some olympics I see the logic to removing them before use.

Oops, yes, thanks for reminding me, Smokin'!
If water is to be kept from seeping in, Olympic rivets or bucked rivets MUST be used. The little hole in pop rivets lets water through.

If the hole is not too big, I would use 5/32 Olympic Rivets. They have no hole to leak like a standard pop rivet and the head can be shaved to look like an original bucked rivet.

Is the standard "pop rivet" the type you can putrchase at the big box stores? You know, the kind with the hole in it?
