My awning is stuck - what can I do?

The driver's side awning on my 31' 74 overlander is stuck and won't come down. It looks like it should but it's completely frozen. I've tried spraying some WD-40 in there but it didn't free anything up at all.

What is a better product for freeing rust? I've never had very good luck with spray on silicon lubricant.

Am I just going to have to replace the awning probably? Or will I maybe be able to fix it?

Thanks!

Is it a ZipDee awning? If so, give them a call at:

If it's stuck due to corrosion, I'd try genine pentrating oil, and then use a heat gun on it.

If you disconnect the arms be really, really careful with the spring end. If it gets loose on you it can do some serious damage, to you and the coach.
