Missing support arm for 31' 76 sovereign

I'm missing a piece of what I assume is a middle support arm for the awning. There are brackets located on the side of the camper in the middle. If anyone could tell me the function of this piece and where I might find one I would appreciate it. A picture would also be appreciated.

Our 31 foot 77 came with a Zip Dee but did not have the support rod. I found one at a Swap meet at a region rally and installed it. It did not seem to improve the awning performance. A couple of years later I noticed it had torn loose when going down the road and there was no way I was going back 300 miles to find it. I have not bothered to replace it. Since your awning is much shorter, I do not think you should bother to replace it. I always tie my awning down if I am going to be away for the day. Using the rally setting to tip your awning will guarenttee that water will not collect in the middle and bend the main roller.

The middle support arm slides out just like the end pieces but there is a nipple on the end of the rod that fits into a hole drilled in the awning tube. It's function is to help support the long awning tube on longer trailers. Sorry I do not have a picture since the trailer is in Hamburg, Germany now.

Contact Zip Dee to see if they have replacement arms or Colaw Salvage (do a search on the forum for location/website) for used units.

I can take a picture later this evening if needed. Our awning has been out for months, and I have not put that arm out. no problems.
