If you have a VTS awning...

could you post a picture? I can't decide on a color. I really like the blue one in the photos but that color doesn't appear to be one of the choices available.

Thanks!

This is the green VTS pole & rope awning. Its a good awning and goes up easy even for one person.

Herb, I've been looking for a replacement for our Eaz-Awn, how does it attach to the roof?

Here's mine, a red one from VTS. I think its 13' 9" long x 8' deep. The poles can be set so it doesn't sag as much as this pic. It stood some pretty stiff wind without collapsing.

Terry, it has a rolled vinyl bead sewn to the back that slides into the awning rail and it fits perfectly. I use a step ladder to reach the awning rail. Because of its size mine is more difficult to put up alone than Herb's, piece of cake with two people. It helps when a second person keeps the trailing end elevated. Taking down is simple with one person.

Herb, if you know a secret to easier awning installation solo, let us know.

I too use a ladder. The stiffness of the bead allows me to push the awning through the rail. It does help if a second person pulls the far end but I can do it solo.

We used it a week ago at the Pelican State Rally and the wind was blowing pretty good. The wind caused the awning to slip in the rail so I had put the screws in on each end of the rail to keep it from slipping.

One obvious drawback to this style of awning is that you have to stake it to the ground. At this rally we were on cement but the cement had cracks that I nailed into. I'm going to look for pitons I think now. Also I've thought about 5 gallon bukets filled with water but haven't tried it yet.
