Does anyone know what the very long "hook-thing" is called, and where I can get another one? I left it at the last campground I overnighted in (Denmark, TN)! Duh ............. I'm a single lady who isn't tall enough to reach the awning over my dinette window or the awning on the door-side of my Safari!
Just about any RV dealer that has a parts & accessories dept should have these. Might not look exactly like the one you get with the ZipDee awning but it'll get the job done.
Yes it is called an Awning Helper, if it is from Zip Dee. They can also be called an awning pull rod, which is the Dometic part, but it will work with the ZD awnings too.

Drop into your local Truckstop and ask someone who knows truck accessories for a PIN PULLER. It will be about 3 feet long or so with a L on the end and a handle of some kind on dee other. I have several from my drivin days. Works great for me.
Good Luck

May your roads be straight and smooth and may you always have a tailwind!
ZipDee has an unparalleled reputation for bending over backwards to help their peeps. Might need to wait until Monday. But you can get a new one of these sent to you as soon as they can if you give them a call. Awnings By ZipDee
Might as well spend Saturday morning calling local/regional RV dealers. For sure somebody will have one of these.
I've found a local camping supply store that I will go by today. In the meantime, the ZipDee awning diagram is P-E-R-F-E-C-T! Thanks so much, everyone, for your help.
Look online at the official website of your awning and look it up.
