Fiamma on 72 Safari?

I've searched high and low, but have not found- I'm restoring a 72 Safari Land Yacht 23', currently with no awning. I'm choking like everyone else at new zip dee prices and apparent challenges with wind. My quotes have been about $2200 including shipping for a 155" awning.

Airstream Interstates use Fiamma F45's, and Casita uses the F35. I think they are the same as what we had on a rented T5 VW camper in Europe, and I like them. I think the structure of the walls would take the strain, especially if I reinforced before closing the walls in.

Anyone seen/heard/have firsthand experience with the Fiamma on an Airstream trailer? It's still an investment at about $1300, but cheaper enough that it would be worth it if there isn't some deal breaker.

Thank you!

Replying to my own empty thread- received an email response from a Fiamma representative today:

Due to the tragedy on June 5th, Fiamma Inc is closed until further notice. One-half of our work force was tragically victims on June 5 including all of our managers, technicians and administrators. We appreciate your patience, we are still planning and addressing whether and when to re-open the business and it will not be an easy task.

We are not filling or accepting any orders at this time.

Thanks for your kind understanding and loyalty to us,
Fiamma, Inc.

I hadn't realized that their company was the target of a mass shooter on June 5th. Tragic.

There is a way to measure for a custom "curved wall" track carefree awning. I've had them on two straight wall coaches. Teach out to carefree of colorado. Core kleck

Forgot to update the thread- I bought a fiamma F45, $1300 delivered. Reinforced the skins with aluminum doubler plates outside and inside the skin. 200+ rivets later- it's rock solid, and works like a champ. Only thing I don't like is the fabric choices aren't there on the Fiamma- we got a grey wavy pattern, whereas the Zip Dee, you get damn near whatever you want, with name-brand Sunbrella fabric.

Long and short, the awning works like a champ, glad I did it, saved $1000.
