E-Z Awn and leak??

Hello, I've been lurking on here for a while now and have learned a lot about my Airstream. I bought a '71 Sovereign last November '04. I have done some restorations on it, such as replacing the carpet with simulated wood vinyl flooring, reupholstering the sofa, repairing the tambour cabinet openings, replacing some of the window screens that were missing, and replacing the door and window gaskets, overall its starting to look really nice.

I do have a small leak that I'm still trying to track down, It's above the front window behind the sofa, so any suggestions or help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Another problem is the awning. I can't figure out how to work it? I thought I might have a Zip-Dee awning, so I went to their website and printed off the instructions on theirs, but mine does'nt seem to be the same? It says E-Z Awn on each end. Is this the brand name or something else? Can anybody help me on how to work this thing..............Thanks

I think I have found what you have. It seems that Carefree of Colorado makes the arms for an Airstream/Argosy. I am not sure if this will help but it is worth a try. You can check the Carefree of Colorado website at: http://www.carefreeofcolorado.com/RVhomepage.html
I googled the site below. It is an Adobe Acrobat file. It shows the arms for the Airstream/Argosy:

Two possibilities that I have encountered include leaks around the window gaskets (paying particullar attention to the "wing windows"), and the attachment points for the front Rock Guard assuming that your coach is so equipped.

The E-Z Awn was produced by A & E which is now part of Dometic USA. They no longer produce any of the Airstream specific parts for the awning arms, but the roller tube and fabric can still be purchased as replacement parts. If you can contact the correct person at Dometic, they can assist with the operating instructions for your awning (I had to try three times six years ago before I was able to obtain much help from Dometic with a copy of the manual pages for operation of the A & E Travel Awn 5000 that was original equipment on my Overlander). You can find Dometic/A & E on the web at:

A & E RV Patio Awning Guide

Good luck with your research and projects!

Kevin
