Complete Carefree awning for parts

I have a mechanically operational Carefree awning installed on a 23' Safari. This is a non-standard length unit, due to the battery compartment door being at the bottom of the rear rib. Total length from center to center of the arms is 144-3/8". The fabric is almost completely dissolved due to sunburn.

This is an all or nothing deal. I will dispose of any parts that you don't want or that can't be shipped, but the whole unit goes to the highest bidder.

I am removing the unit and replacing with a vintage awning.

Awning

Zip
Do you know if a replacement fabric is available and about how much it would cost? I am interested in the upright parts and brackets. Any idea what shipping costs would be to 32304?

Luke (AirstreamInCO@gmail.com), up in Ft Collins, is a renowned Airstreame fixer. He sent me this:

The curve of trailers varied over the years. Zip Dee has about 8 arm designs over the years. I suggest listing the Airstream year the awning is currently on. Carefree no longer produces arms or parts. Carefree will custom make a replacement vinyl cover for about $300. I just installed one recently.

All I can say is that Zip Dee charges about $1000 for new fabric. You can order the same fabric from folks who make vintage awnings (the type that slide in and use tent poles at the outer corners) for about 1/3 of that, but then you need to get it sewn to fit and figure out how the fabric is retained in the roller tube.

I think the arms (right at 7') may exceed the UPS length limit. If so, freight is about 3 times UPS.

Free. You figure out shipping or pick it up in Palmer Lake.

OK, awning is off the Safari. It is a '73 model (if that helps define the curved arm shape). All parts seem to be in working condition--roller still has spring tension, but I'm not sure about what seems to be locking lever at the front end of the roller.

Parts include the long plastic rod that goes in the fabric in the awning tube.

The fabric was torn about 95% of its length, right along the awning tube, so a fabric cover isn't going to fix it.

Turns out the roller tube is 144" long, which isn't the standard length for a 23' Safari. It is shortened to allow the rear bottom attachment to be attached just forward of the aft battery compartment door. (see the attachment point in the third photo in post #1)

All the other parts are generic and should fit any '69 through late '70s trailer.

This is a limited time offer--need the floor space.
