The suggested fix for holes is to patch it from the bottom with some matching material using silicone. Zipdee will send you the material for free if you give them a call. I am not sure that this will work for you because of the location of the tear. I would contact customer support at Zipdee and get their advice.

The same principles should apply to any brand of awning since this is a fabric issue.

I called A&E and they told me to buy a new awning. When I had a zip dee they sent me a roller and a piece of fabric. I thought this was made of different stuff. I used tear mender and a piece of the zip dee fabric and glued a patch over the rip on the zip dee . Can I do the same with this fabric?

If you don't get any good confident suggestions here or thought the manufacturer, I might try either a convertible top manufacturer or a tent manufacturer as an alternative since they both produce fabric products that have to withstand pressure and wind... Just a suggestion.

I made a repair on my Zipdee using the method recomended by them. The fabric on mine was made by Sumbrella, I do not know what yours is.

To make a temporary repair so that it did not travel more, why not stick a chunk of Eternabond on the bottom side. It can always be covered with something else later to match the color???? Just a suggestion as I have not had the pleasure.

There are two or 3 kinds of awning repair tapes available as well. A company called INCOM makes some that is clear and works pretty well on some tears. Or the patch method you mentioned might work as well.
