Awnings at Airstream of NM

We are thinking about giving our Airstream a 50th birthday present , namely, ZipDees all around. And wondering about having it done at the local Airstream dealer in Albuquerque, Airstream of New Mexico. Does anybody have any experience with them, good or bad?

Thx,
Lynn

I had some work done on our 2010 International. It was done well. They are a small family operation, so book way ahead. Real personable folks.

I have work scheduled with them in Jan/Feb time frame to add on my front rock guards and back bumper. I did not purchase my trailer from them, but from the party who bought from them. They were amazing as the trailer was held at their location getting some maintenance work done prior to my purchase. The family that owns the dealership were kind and gracious even though they made zero dollars off my sale, they even provided me with a starter kit as a welcome to the Airstream family.

Prior to me making the decision to move forward with their work, I did several inspections of the work they had done on the premises. It looks like very high quality.

Note: Getting on their schedule is very difficult as they are the only dealer in NM and it is family owned and small. Be patient :-)

Check with Luke in Fort Collins, he is a distributor for ZipDee.

Yep, Luke would be great, but we don't want to have to go up that way. Again. And again. And again. And again. (Too many visits to the lung hospital.)

Holiday in Albuquerque is great. Andrew Lee Aragon is the maintenance guru and has been doing this forever. He replaced my Zip Dee main awning last April in four hours. Really nice people.

AS New Mexico

The Aragon family owns the AS dealership. This family is the best, honest and reliable. Andrew is a wizard. Never had a problem! Recommend them highly.

Good service

We have been to them twice over the years. Once to have fantastic fan hood replaced. Liked them lots.

We had awnings put all around our 2014, 27ft., Flying Cloud this past summer. It's a wonderful thing.

I echo the sentiments of above posters, the Aragon family is personable, honest and sincere. We bought our 25' Flying Cloud FB from them last year and the experience was great. Andrew Aragon is very knowledgeable and meticulous. I would definitely recommend them for service and install.

Sounds like Holiday is now Airstream of NM. Kind of like the Soup Nazi, good work but.
I was kicked off the lot once because my Stream was old and unrestored. Recently they changed out the waste discharge valves and did a good job. When I called at the time it was promised I was threatened with being black listed if I kept bugging them.

Hahaha! Good eye as it is, indeed, from the Long Long Trailer. My wife and I have enjoyed that movie for years. The song was sung up in the Mammoth Lakes area near where we used to camp all the time.

When it came time to choose a name for the blog, it was available and we couldn't resist.

I have enjoyed that movie since I was a kid.
That movie may well have influenced me to buy a trailer.

Airstream of New Mexico and Holiday Travel Trailers are the same place owned by the Aragon family. (Disclaimer) The Aragons and my family have been close friends for at least 50 years, however since I went into the US Navy in the 80's, I did not know that the Aragons were the owners of Holiday Travel Trailers.

As a fulltimer for years, we have talked to many people from Homer, Alaska to the deep south of Texas about the best place to do any repairs, modifications, etc.. to our beloved Airstream. Always, without exception, the answer was Holiday Travel Trailers in Albuquerque. Albuquerque!!! you've got to be kidding!! Of about 25 people who actually had work done there, of which I personally inspected 11 repairs or modifications, not one person was dissatisfied. In fact, they all agreed that they would rather go there than to Jackson Center!

While traveling through Alb. this year, I decided to see if I could get a Alaska under belly dent fixed. Imagine my surprise when the first person I met there was my childhood friend, Pearl Aragon! After finding out that their backlog, partly due to moving their entire operation, and partly due to the end of summer winterizing, would push my repair to the end of April, Andrew Lee promptly sold me the materials and parts needed for me to do the repair myself! Not only that, he told me exactly how to do it, based on many hundreds of identical repairs.

So, would I recommend Holiday Travel/Airstream of NM.... absolutely, and without reservation. Simply put, they are the best.... and the most honest, the most recommended, and one of the most reasonable Airstream dealers/repair centers in the country.

That is food for thought.
Better than Jackson Center?
Maybe a little balloon fiesta and trailer service can be arranged...
I worked a lot in Albuquerque in 2005 and 2006.
I've ridden a Harley in and around Albuquerque.
Even met a girl in Albuquerque and nearly got married and moved to Albuquerque permanently...
Ultimately that didn't happen, but I have found memories of Albuquerque.

Just looked at our travel journal, yep, 4 people had repairs/mods done at JC and at AS of NM. All 4 preferred AS of NM.... of the rest, 2 tried to schedule repairs at JC, but could not get on the schedule in time (based on their travel plans).

The others mostly agreed that the reason they would prefer AS of NM over JC, was that "it was too far to go". We have never traveled the midwest and most of the ASers we meet stay on the western part of the US.

All agreed that the quality and service were superior to the factory!! (I have looked under floor, behind cabinets, etc... and know what they mean! My brand new 23FB had loose wires dangling into the converter area!!! Glad I looked! Fire prevented!!

The Factory Service at Jackson Center is light-years ahead of the factory just a little northwest of it in quality.
The staff there are committed to fixing the screw-ups made by the factory.
It does seem that it would be easier and less expensive to just build them right the first time...
