Awnings

All,

Please find attached a photo of the awning track/hooks on my Avalair(similar but not an Airstream), but don't know where else to go.. I don't know if the original awning would slip onto the hooks or are the hooks the only thing left of the awning.
Does anyone have anything similar? This is on a 1961-3, and I can't find any pictures of the awning attachments of that era.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If you took the hooks out and filled the holes, you would still have the awning rail that holds a standard type awning.

That looks like a standard awning rail. Maybe previous owner used the hooks as a quick connect for an awning instead of sliding a rope and awning through the track. Only a guess. Good Luck!

I think a PO installed hooks so they could use a tarp as an awning. I'd remove hooks and repair if needed then by the awning that would have been on it.

Wow! cool, do you have any more pics or story on this. I'm an avid WW2 history reader and really interested. Especially sharing the same name.
