Awnings $$$$$$

Does anyone have a guesstimate as to what awnng replacements would run a person? Just curious. We have a 34' 1989 Limited. Two side awnings, one long one (not full length) and one at the rear above the rear bedroom window.....Not sure if it is worht pursueing. We currently have the brown striped awnings, and were considering the blue ones. Any thoughts or opinions?

$1400 for a 31'

ZipDee wants $1400 for a new awning for my 31' Excella. That is just the main awning on the curbside. It's a big one...21' long. But this should give you a starting point. They're not cheap.

If the mechanicals of the awning are in good shape, you can purchase just the fabric portion of the awning. A lot will depend on the brand. If you have ZippDee the Airstream Gods have smiled on you. There are plenty of parts still availble for them and the manufacturer still supports them. If you have SOB (some other brand) you are not as fortunate. But fabric should still be availble for them too.

hi tin lizzy

obviously the thing to do is call zip dee. some one else does replacements now too.....but why not just get the best from the source.

1400$ sounds like the cloth and hardware....on yours jim....did you price a complete replacement or just cloth?

tin lizzy
replacement cloths for all the awnings on your 34 would be great....it's amazing what a color change does....
i like blue but the current solid color burgundy done on the limiteds has grown on me.....

also the striped era style is retro carnival cool.....

occasionally someone wants or needs the color you currently have so keep them for others to buy, if the cloth is in good shape...

have you cleaned them? when cleaned well the old ones look great tooo!

cheers

If you have any trouble getting replacement fabric or complete awnings, let me know as I'm also a Zip-Dee dealer and special 'forum pricing' will apply. I can't list what it is, but PM me if you are interested.

When we got our last trailer we went to Camping World and got a new awning for it. It was only a 9' awning and cost $500.

I priced a zip dee installed for $1485 including labor for a 21' for the street side so I would have a comparison price when negotiating on a new Airstream. This is a much narrower awning that the curb side, though. I also got dealer cost for under $800 when I bought the new Airstream for the same size unit.

2Air, the PO of my coach took the awning off. I've filled the screw holes with silicone until I can get one. I need the whole enchilada...

Just temporary to keep the rain out until I get a new awning... There should be a metal plate covering it...with an awning attached to that plate!

What kind of guy scrounges the awning off a good trailer anyway... Ah well, at least I got a good deal on it. I had no idea awnings were so expensive when I bought the trailer.

Awning Fabric

If you have a Zip Dee you can get a "replacement fabric" for around $25 a foot for patio awnings, $18 for window awnings.
