We just recently bought a 1966Caravel. The awning that came with it has freyed rope that you put into the metal sleeve. Are people keeping it that way with new rope or updating and sticking a metal rode inside? What do you do with the ends of the rope once it's been put on? Tie knots? Completely clueless and need your help. I have no instructions or a brand name on the poles. Thanks for any ideas.
