Awning traveling latch not secure

The latch can be twisted into place and seems good but slides back Out of place after traveling. When ever I stop I replace it back into its proper position and the next time I stop it’s slipped back out again doesn’t seem to be a problem as the awning stays in place and the spring along with the spin on locks seem to have enough tension to keep it there. I have traveled several thousand miles like this and have inspected the alignment which is seemingly good. It’s just a “nit” with me and I wonder if there is something I might look at to solve the problem or just not worry about it.

We’ve a 2016 Classic. The main awning hook latch has refused to stay in place since buying. I’ve resorted to padlocking the hole in the hook to the hole on the trailer mount.
While I’m on a rant, I’ll add a question: why does Airstream have the hook at the end of the awning (rear of the trailer)? Shouldn’t physics and airflow dictate placing it near the front of the awning?
Oh well. Two cross country trips and the trailer has performed beyond expectations.
Good luck.

That hook probably is loose and needs to be tightened before you lose it. I put a little Locktite (blue) on mine to keep it from coming loose and falling off. If it’s tight it’ll stay put.

Like one of you mentioned, the awning stays put without it. It seems to be a backup.

So why didn’t Airstream put a little locktite on the threads?
