Awning spring
Just installed a new main awning spring, took me a couple of hours. Most of the time was spent trying to get the broken spring out of the roller tube. It would not just pull out, it was stuck pretty good. After taking a rod with a crook in it I managed to stretch it out with a lot of tension. Clamped vise grips to it an took a rubber mallet and tapped on the roller tube for a while. That didn't work so I stretched the spring out some more to put a lot of tension on it and began tapping the roller again and it shot out like a cannon. So lessen of the day is keep clear of the end of the tube when that thing comes out.
