The awning is a Zip Dee - and they have instructional videos on their site. See Awnings By Zip Dee

Not a ZipDee , looks more like an A and E . Replaced the one on my white box trailer . Was not difficult. Need three people though. Video should be helpful.

I stand corrected - it is an A&E (I had one one my LY motorhome). They were also used on some of the Argosy trailers.

Actually this is an old CareFree awning. To change the fabric you basically remove the screws securing the end cap to the roller tube, slide the cap out, then then slide out the old material and slide in the new. There are other issues involving stored torsion spring energy that complicate this job and make it very hazardous to the under informed. Do not under any circumstances underestimate the amount of force stored in the spring that resides in the tube.

I believe I have an old post outlining the steps involved, I will see if I can dig it up.

I have an old Care Free awning that looked great on my !976 Argosy 26, unfortunately I live in Arizona and driving on the highway in 60 + mph wind it blew off. I have not been able to find any parts mainly the curved arms so I will be traveling without an awning. I don't care for the looks of the new Zip Dee awnings that come on the new AIRSTREAMS they just don't look that good on an old Argosy.
It is a pretty easy fix to change the fabric, just be careful of the spring tension. Good Luck.

Earl, I will get to the trailer and get you some measurements tomorrow on my arms. I am sure they will work for you. Ed
