I have a new rope and pole awning that is being made for my globetrotter, but have to purchase poles on my own. I am looking for a good sturdy pole that will last. I have checked cabelas and rei, but both seem to be sold out. I need these poles by mid Sept and don't know if either company will have these back in stock. Where did you get yours or some one that has them in stock.
Thanks
Jill
Thanks for the replies, I checked Cabelas and Rei's websites and they are on backorder as well and have a expected ship date of 10-15 weeks if ordered today. I will keep looking, has anybody made there own poles and where did you get the parts?
jillwill, This is just a thought but maybe you could call the folks at VintageTrailerSupply.com (since they sell whole vintage awnings) and ask Steve H. if they might have just poles you could purchase. Worth a phone call and if they have them they are very fast at shipping. Happy Trails,Ed

jillwill,
Have you considered painter's poles (adjustable, about 1" dia)? One twists the two sections to unlock, extends and twists the opposite way to lock. I made two for an awning by working the threaded ends down to a spikes to go through a corner grommet. You can find them at hardware and paint stores.
