Question Awning options - tacky, bland, poor taste?

We are comtemplating replacing our original, elderly awning. But with what?
The original is brown striped with orange and white to match the trailer but it is sooo dark underneath as well as being - well - dated. Currently Sunbrella offer several replacement options including solid orange and last years orange stripes. Here are our issues:

1. I don't like orange - but the trailer has orange accents.
2. Hubby - doesn't like stripes - compared mock up to an icecream truck and would want to install annoying bell to go with stripes.
3. Son is embarrassed by the entire concept of trailer and wants to trade it for plane tix to anywhere!

Please find attached photos: original, an orange striped mock-up and a solid orange mock-up. All opinions will be considered - even those in excruciatingly poor taste.

What do you think?

I have to say...the orange stripe does kinda remind me of a 50/50 bar!

What about a more subtile Sunbrella stripe like "Alpine/Terra Cotta Classic", "Sand Graduated Stripe" or " "Blended Green Tailored Bar Stripe"?

Ok, so you guys are saying that my awning needs an ice cream bell underneath?
What colors would go with Martinis, then?
No seriously, my awning has the orange, beige stripes, and I believe it looks great with a 70's trailer.
Of course there's always the Airstream blue stripes. Too common, perhaps.
If you have Orange accents, then i would pick a subtle orange stripe, nit as bright as in your picture. Look at my avatar - that would go well.
It also has a little grey pattern underneath, which is very 70's classy, in my opinion.

I'm voting for the cream/sherbert stripes - I love it! It just looks like a bright fun day on the beach.

And tell the kid to get over himself

since i am a deer hunter, i like the "blaze orange" awning option!

looks like deer camp to me!! put a gun rack by the door and you are all set!

Maybe...

I actually don't mind the orange stripes...especailly if they go with the overall color scheme of the trailer.

I was actually replying to Janet's parameters set above:
Quote:
1. I don't like orange - but the trailer has orange accents.
2. Hubby - doesn't like stripes - compared mock up to an icecream truck and would want to install annoying bell to go with stripes.
For them, a compromise would be more subtile stripes...

Janet.

We would suggest Zip Dee's #4796, for your Argosy.

It's Beige and Off White.

We have sold several of these to Argosy owners.

Does it have to be a Creamsicle on wheels?

Our awning has blue and off-white stripes, length-wise. Underside of the awning is a tan and off-white pattern. It looks good, and has the virtue of having been easy-to-own (read free). It is brighter than the OEM awning, which was close to Gary and Janet's. Just because the inside looks like a deer hunter's dream, doesn't mean the outside has to.
Also, please advise the son that, unlike an aircraft, the possibility of it being hijacked to Cuba is highly remote.

I much prefer the "top to bottom" stripe pattern (like Uwe, Janet) to the lengthwise pattern that I have.

But replacing my current awning is waaayyy down my to do list.

More choices!

Wow! Cross-ways stripes - I never even considered the possibility. Keep the suggestions coming - we need help. The fabric on our awning is getting that "old rotted" canvas feel.
