Awning Material/fabric

I am getting a custom designed awning printed and then installed on my 31' AS.

I am wondering what material is best for the awnings. I need a good strong weatherproof fabric, but just wondering if there is any specifics that might be offered from the forum.

Can anyone help?

Once it's made I will have them installed by a pro...any other considerations with a custom awning fabric I should know? ( ie "all sides should be triple stitched" or "a coated plastic/canvas awning is ideal" )

Thanks!!

Zip Dee uses Sunbrella fabrics. I can't see any reason to use any other fabric. The fabric on my 1983 Excella's awning still looks great.

Double triple ditto. I'd only add to re-coat every few years with 303 awning seal.

There are several other dramatically less expensive "polyester fabrics" like Solabond (?) and others I can't remember.. I do know we saved a bit by buying a patio umbrella made out of "Not-Sunbrella" and it self-destructed within 14 months into shreds of fabric and little tiny flecks... Get the real stuff from Sunbrella... They heavy vinly fabrics may seem like a better way to stay dry, but when rolled up wet they don't do as well...

I would think that the company that is doing custom work would be better at advising you. One of the great properties of Sunbrella is that it is treated to be water resistant If it can't absorb water, it can't absorb dye/paint. That means that whatever you print on top of it will very likely fail and peel off.
