Awning ID?

I'm trying to figure out which awning I have on the '75 Argosy. Travel Awn 5000? I can't seem to find any markings anywhere. Thoughts? Parts sources?

Looks like a Carefree of Colorado to me. Guessing from the curved supports and the bump like knobs on the end roller.

The arm and the roller look like Carefree of Colorado, but the end-cap on the roller looks WEIRD. I think it may be some sort of homemade replacement part.

I'll look at the label on mine to see if I can get a part number or something, but I suspect that the parts for that era are more or less interchangeable, and you'll probably be on your own looking for used parts. I haven't tried, but word is that the company is not intent on supporting old models.

this looks identical to the 1975 Carefree on my unit. The end caps are not available
as far as I could tell. The bearing in mine was gone and I ended up with a rube goldburg similar to what you have. However it works.,

My main concern is how far the cap is from the frame. It is a good few inches away, and it is under some spring tension. I can fabricate something if need be to make it work.

I am assuming the 3-4" of steel rod that comes out of the cast piece on the cap should be inside the tube. If any of you that have this style awning, could you take a picture of the end for me so I can see what it is supposed to look like?

I'm not sure this is a helpful view. I was taking some photos of the awning last weekend to share with another member with awning issues.

I'll try to remember to take another that shows the space between the arm and the roller tomorrow, the trailer will be right out front getting ready to go.

Hi I added several photos of my Carefree Awning to my profile, do not know how to enter them here. The left bearing on my awning was GONE. The way they made them
was the bearing was inside (spring side) of the end of the shaft. No way to replace it. It held the spring shaft from sliding too far into the roller tube. I put a couple
heavy washers the size of the endcap on the outside of the spring shaft and put the cap back on. Also a external screw to hold the shaft in place. I have photos on my profile page if interested

Here's a view of the area between the roller and the arm.

DKB, I'm pretty sure yours is the same as mine, but with an updated end-cap (torsion cap?) perhaps? Do you know which model it is? I'm assuming it IS a Carefree?

Thanks for the pics, James
