Awning Hardware

Where can I purchase one of these for the left-hand rearward end of an awning? I haven't found an on-line supplier. Must I call the manufacturer?

Awning parts

You could check some of the RV Salvage yards like Colaws in Missouri or CherokeeRv Salvage in Colorado. They may have the ZipDee part you seek. Happy Trails, Ed

Call ZipDee. They were very helpful when I had to replace the end caps and not overpriced. They will ask you your year and get you set up with the right parts.

The parts at Cherokee were purchased by a vendor who is currently sorting and will open in Colorado soon (or so I'm told by AEROWOOD).

You might PM BEDFORDS. He has a partial awning that has intact end pieces per your photo. His parts are from a '75 and I believe the Zip Dee is from that same vintage...and it's also an Ambassador!

Zip-Dee products are sold by authorized dealers (like myself and others) and by the company itself but you probably won't find them on-line.

They are a very responsive company and will sell to you directly. Give them a call and get what you need.

As Zep said I have the left hand end. Based on your other thread regarding frame rot have you decided to continue restoration? I am probably going to replace my with a different set up. So if you still need the part or parts let me know and I will ship them down to you.

Call Zip-Dee. I had to replace the center support bar on my 34' and the awning; not fast enough when the wind started blowing. One call and the awning and replacement bar arrived in a week. They are great to deal with.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Bedfords: I should know in about a week. After the welders have their say. Depends on what the frame is going to cost.

Bedfords, I have decided to continue the restoration. So I am interested in what parts you have if still available?

I called Zip Dee directly and ordered the parts I needed for my lost center support arm. The folks there are very helpful.

I just noticed that out-of-doors-mart now lists many Zipdee parts on their website.

I checked the Out-of-Doors-Mart website and the pictures. The part I need is apparently called a Front Head Casting -Left Hand. The photos on the website show this part painted grey. I suppose I would paint mine to match. On the other hand maybe the one on my awning was originally painted and the paint has worn off. It appears as if it was never painted. And it has a bare metal finish.

All of the head castings that I have seen and worked with are 'cast' aluminum........no paint or other finish done to them.......unless yours have the red inset...which is painted.

Lew, the RH one (I'm missing the LH side) on my trailer, seen in the photo of post no. 1 of this thread, isn't painted. I was just wondering about the photos on the Out-of-Doors-Mart website which show painted head castings?
