We have a 30' Limited. The awning was out and tilted but as FL rainstorms have it not enough. The rain collected in the lower corner and bent the arm-a loud crash and it was all over. Do other AS have the seaming going vertical to land? It appears that water collected in each of the quadrants. Just be aware. We were blessed an AS repair service was only 20 miles away and we replaced the bent arm for minimal $$. No damage to the coach.
I'm suprised that you had this happen to you. I've been through a few gully washers and mine has always flowed out the lower side with no standing water.
On my awning arms, I have 2 positions, fully extended and tilted. Does your awning arms have a different set-up?
Correction: I have 3 positions: Extended, tilted & down for storage.
We have a ZIP Dee. Was certainly surprised as well!! We have the same positioning and two arms with a third supporting the middle that attaches after the awning is unrolled. My husband was on the commode at the time. You can only imagine what he thought.
