A&E awning upper (rafter) bracket

So, I didn't get my awning taken down in time when a wind storm whipped through on my last camping trip and a huge gust came while I was in the process of stowing the awning. This caused the fabric (I knew it would have to be replaced at some point soon) to rip and one of the upper brackets that hold the rafter arm to the top of the airstream to break. I cannot find a new bracket that looks like that one anywhere (new fabric already ordered) so figured I'd ask here. The awning otherwise worked perfectly before the wind got it. Pic of the upper bracket is attached. I'd be fine with replacing both sides if I could find one that worked, but I haven't seen anything that looks remotely close so far...

What is the model of you A&E? Mine is the 9000 and I've found several places that have the hardware the A&E. Here is one:

I'm not sure the model, as you can see the stickers on the end of the awning drum are pretty much illegible. There's an A&E sticker on the main support but no model number...

Here's a picture of my 9000 as I was taking it off. I can't tell from your picture if the attachment is exactly the same, but it looks similar. Can you get a couple more pictures? I can upload some more if need be.

That's it, best I can tell after talking to a couple of places it's part number 3312909.615S main rafter, which is part of the 838100D015 'airstream &argosy through 1985' mounting kit. Let me know if you can find any kind of part number on the main rafter as I think the mount and rafter arm come as one part.

I'll check that. It will have to wait until the first of next week until I can get to it, however. Glad to know we are on the right track.

A&E 9000 manuals

Perhaps you have seen one or two or all of these manuals. They might be helpful to you.

I repaired the rafter rather than replace it and installed new fabric - had to do it at the campsite as the weather just didn't cooperate this week. It was actually fairly easy, took a little over an hour with help from a buddy. The hardest part was sliding the new fabric into the channel on the roof, one person had to carefully feed it in while the other person pulled it.

http://airgo.blogspot.com/2015/10/pretty-isn-it.html

The nice guy that accidentally crunched my A&E shipped me the whole frame assembly. The old parts are still in the shop waiting for just such an occasion. Tell me what you need. Too bad I didn't hear about this earlier, have been close to Richmond twice lately.

Pm me quick, leaving for Smokies in a couple days.

Same problem

Hi folks,
I have the same problem and need one of these brackets. Does anyone have a clue where to find one?

Believe it or not Camper World may have some of these parts. I printed out the manual and other pdf files and took them to the local C.W. parts department and they said they have parts. Now, I have never actually bought these parts (haven't gotten around to fixing my awning yet) but I was encouraged and it's worth a try to see if they have them. Perhaps other dealers might have parts as well.

Also check the link in post number 2 of this thread

Good luck.
