Question A & E Awning Problem

Any suggestions on how to retrieve the awning strap on my A & E awning that I lost control of when putting the awning back up and was rolled in with the awning. I've tried feeling for the strap loop by wedging my hand in the awning cover case but can't feel it. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

A & E Awning Problem

Need two people to assist you by pulling on the awning arms as high up as possible to unfurl the awning enough for the strap to get where you can reach it. A couple ladders make it easier.

Common problem, don’t be embarrassed to ask for some extra help to make it possible and easier to retrieve the strap.

A&e?

I’ll second RMKRUM’s advice.... but do you mean ZipDee or is AS putting A&E’s on these days?

It is an A & E that was put on several years ago by the previous owner.
We will try to retrieve the strap tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Be careful with the spring tension in the roller.

We use a small line through the strap loop when furling the awning, which allows us to pull the loop out enough to retrieve next time. We remove and store the line. Add this to you routine and the problem goes away!

Excellent idea

We are uk owners of an international and took delivery two weeks ago and have the same issue. I like your idea but wonder if the strap on our vans should be longer in the first place?

Thanks for the excellent advice to retreive the awning strap. It's taken this long for me to get scaffolding around my rig for other maintenance and focus on retreiving the strap per your advice. Length of strap is now extended and ready for my road trip next week.
Much appreciated.

Thank you for closing the loop on the issue. It helps folks know the issue is solved. Have a good weekend!

We’re on a five week road trip to the east coast across Texas, Maryland, and Alabama at the moment
