A & E Awning

I have an A & E 5000 Awning On my AS. Every thing works good on it except, that on the top of one of the arms where the roller slides in to that bracket at the top and held in by a keeper pin, any way I was trying to get the keeper pin out and I broke The roller holder in half. So does anyone know where I can get a new or used one at. I just bought a new awning for it, and like I said every thing works on it, so I would hate to have to buy a whole new one.

Try this link to RV Surplus. If it's not listed, give them a call. They have lots of "stuff".

I sincerely hope that your luck with the A & E series 5,000 awning is better than mine. When I contacted the manufacturer, Dometic, in 1995, I was told that the only part for Airstream installations of this series that are still supported with new parts are the awning tube and fabric. Since the parts that you are searching for are related to the awning tube, they may still be available from Dometic. Their website can be found at:

Dometic - - A & E Awnings for RVs

After spending nearly the cost of a new ZipDee on repairs to the A & E Travel Awn 5,000 on my Overlander, I finally relented and purchased a new ZipDee. It is one of the best modifications that I have made on the coach as its operation has been trouble-free in comparison to the Travel Awn that seemed to need several hundred dollars worth of new parts every other season.

Good luck with your awning project!

Kevin

A & E Awning

We've had our A & E for eight months. I guess we've been lucky with it. It has been totally trouble free.

Sure hope our luck continues.
