White, caked on blotches

We have a 2005 Bambi in (almost) perfect shape. We live on the ocean, and the Bambi is parked outside. We're getting these white, raised, cake-on blotches of stuff (oxidation, salt??), mostly on the light fixtures, bumper, door hinges. Its also starting to accumulate around the rivets.

What is it?? How do i get rid of it?? Rubbing compound doesn't touch it, dynamite seems alittle extreme....

Help!!!

Appears salt has gotten under your clearcoat, clearcoat will need to be removed, then use some heavy duty compound, like liquid gravel,or nuvite # 9,to get the bad stuff off, then go to finer to finer.
I don`t know if you can spot treat the spots with clear coat, and blend it in,or if it will look like a black eye in Sunday school. Dave

Get some 3M Super Duty Rubbing compound (available from R & E Paint supply. I bet that will touch it! Let me see if I can get you the link. R & E Paint Supply
Show us some pictures if you get the time. The 3M (gravel in a bottle) is more affordable

Suggest you do a search for the Corrosion Problems With New Airstreams thread. It'll give you a good weekends reading!
