H off.ow long is everyone leaving Aircraft Stripper on?If I leave it on over 15min. it dries hard.I don't have a pressure washer, but my hose has a power handle that shoots a pretty forceful spray. If I leave on 10 min. and spray off it removes most but leaves many missed spots.
Today I tried to use a nylon brush and it broke up the surface better before hosing.
The temp was about 65 but windy.
It's coming off but I have to do alot of touchup.
Will mineral spirits take off these remainders?
Maybe the day the 65 was built they actually used a whole gallon of clearcoat on it at the plant.

Hi, I have used the spray stripper before on a small section on one of my trailers and the clear bubbled up in a few seconds after application and then I hosed it off.

If you have some aluminum polish try appling a small amount to the area that you are trying to strip and see if it turns black on the skin. If it does turn black then you do not have any clear coat on the skin. If it does not turn black then there is still clear coat present. Good Luck

I have been waiting for VTS to get more or come up with a substitute, I was unable to find the ICI stripper which is said to be the same..........I did not want to use the harsh stuff as my daughter loves to help

bywaysteve,

Please note posting # 9. When the paint remover is still moist the mineral spirit/paint thinner will remove 90% of the residue.

I removed just the clearcoat above the windows including all of the roof for now. I masked off the area over the windows with paper and a sheet under to prevent the remover from damaging the lower areas. Removal goes pretty fast, I thought.

Thanks for the advice! I used the aircraft stripper and instead of a scraper I used this nylon brush.Worked very well, but still lots of spots that remained though not as much as before.Left on 45min.

1997 34' Excella 1000 Exterior

I just purchased this model and one side has clear coat that has to be stripped. It was parked for 5 years with one side remaining in the sun for the duration. Will the Removall 220 work for this model and issue?

Just tried a bit of this this afternoon on my 1996 Sovereign and it works so easy. Left it on aboput an hour and hosed it off with water. Used it on a door for the house and same easy results.

Called Citristrip

1/2-Gallon Safer Paint and Varnish Stripping Gel-HCG73803T at The Home Depot

Thanks much for the response. I have a large area that has to be stripped and this looks like the ticket.

With the hot South Georgia weather I have only a few hours in the morning to work. I lapplt the stipper with a paoint brush and let it dry out. Then I used my pressure washer and it comes off very nicely. Looking good! Waiting for the Cyclo, model 5 Pro to arrive soon. Will be onto the polish work soon!

This one is a 1996 Sovereign, 21' I just found down in Port Charlotte, Florida. Just sold my 1987 Excfella, 32' and will be delivering it to St Augustine today. Ready to downsize! Like going from a Cadiallac to a VW, but still should be a lot of fun for camping!

oops! HELP! I used Citristrip on my exterior, left it on for an hour and it baked on and I cannot get it off. My bad for taking the last few days of good weather, I did not realize the sunlight was so strong and would cause it to adhere. I was working my driveway as I have no indoor shop so really did not have a choice about environment. I was tempted to re-coat the entire thing to see if it would take it off but was afraid to make it worse. It is a sad shade of pink and can someone PLEASE tell me how to get it off.
