Where to get supplies?

Hi, I want to start stripping and polishing our 79' Sovereign 31' in the near future (if we get some warm days). Where and what kind of stripper/Polish should I get?

Thanks,
Rob

I might mention I've got a few dents as well, what if anything should I do about them?

Posting some clear photos of the body damage will get you all the help you could ask for.

Additionally, if you wanted to paint the trailer "metallic silver" then bondo can be sometimes used to repair damaged metal.

I ordered a gallon of Removeall from Vintage Trailers, a little pricy at $62.00. We'll soon see how it goes!

I bought a kit off cleaner and polish by "metal wax" they claim it was made for commerical aircraft. Does about 100 sq ft in an hour.

It is not a compound, I intend to do a section next week.....we'll see.

Let me know how the Metal Wax stuff works. Is it a metal brightener, or does it really dissolve the dirt/solids. It may be a great prep solution, before actually polishing. I am picking up an old trailer tomorrow, and will start the polishing process soon.

You may also want to do a search of the forums here using the keywords "stripping" and/or "polishing". You'll get a whole bunch of hits to read up on various methods and ideas of what "works" when it comes bringin' on the shine!

Good luck in whatever you decide to do ~
