I use armor- all car wash.
There are threads here discussing this in more depth, if you do a search you will see some.
There are also many discussions on what to put on after you wash it- like non abrasive wax, walbernize, liquid glass, and so on. Mostly depends on who you talk to as to what the favorite is.

this is one:

Water Softener

I recently used soft water to wahs one of the cars. WoW!
I am going to try and scrounge a water softener somewhere, maybe e-bay. Put on some hose fittings and use it to wash the vehicles, Airsram included.
It dries spotless, and gives a great shine to glass.
I used a small squirt of dish soap in the wash water. That's what I use for theAirstream as well. Janitorial supply stores have very soft brushes for vehicle washing, they work great on the airstream with an extension pole, usually used for painting.

Mary you're right the bird stuff will eat thru the clearcoat and make a mess. I went to that Liquid Glass polymer sealant because of it, but I also bought a canopy to put over the AS. Now the leaves and crap fall on the plastic sheet.

Clay Bar?

Has anyone clay barred their Airstream? I have tried it on some spots and it does work great, leaves the surface like glass. Zaino Bros. sells a clay bar and "high end polish", it is not a wax but a paint sealant. Mothers also sells a clay bar kit as do many others. They are great for getting hard to remove "stuff" off of glass too.

It probably would not take to long to do a whole Airstream.

With the new AS coating I find that the dirt is easy to remove with a soft bursh and elbow grease.
I have a commercial water distillation system so I do not have spots when I rinse which is a big plus. For the bugs I use a mild soap solution, everything else like black streaking just rubs off. When you keep it Walberized it is much easier to keep clean. Dirt does not seem to stick as much to the new AS coating when Walberized.

clean the exterior

Just traded my 2001 Bambi on a '04 safari 25' and will continue to use Walbernizer. The Bambi looked brand new when traded in. I would wash it with Zip auto wash and then use the Walbernizer about 3 to 4 times a year. I agree that keeping the Walbernize on really helps when you do wash it. On trips, I would usually wait until the early morning when dew was on the trailer and gently wipe the bugs etc. off the front of the trailer before starting out the day. For me it is easier to keep on it than wait and let the bugs and dirt accumulate. On the road I also will use the Protect All waterless product that I keep mixed in a spray bottle. It really doesn't take much time to keep the unit looking good and I just feel better when it looks that way.

I picked up some "rub" marks on the skin last time out (from branches). Will Walbernize take it off or do I need to clay bar it too?
