What do you use to clean your Airstream?

Hi I'm wondering what everyone is using to clean your silver aluminum Airstream trailers?

How do I stay looking cool?

Everyone seems to have their own secret sauce. I use any old car wash soap and Walbanize it once or twice a year.

Oh, and alcohol to remove pine sap.

If by Nuvite you mean Nuvite Nushine II I wouldn't recommend it. That is an abrasive compound that I suspect would ruin a clear coat finish,

At the beginning of camping season, I go out during a hard rain dressed in a raincoat and handwash the trailer with whatever car wash/wax I happen to have on hand. No fuss with having to drag a hose around. The rest of the season it gets rinsed off when ever it rains.

We use Dawn dish soap and a brush on a stick.

Meguiar's Boat Wash three or four times a year, Meguiar's Gold Class Carnuba Paste Wax twice a year. California Duster as necessary.

We stayed for 12 days at a campground in FL under pine trees and the AS is pretty messy. Lots of sap stuck to the top rails and on the awnings.

Would it be ok to use a pressure washer set to a low pressure and some weak soap?

I have had pine sap drip on my trailer and awning. I thought the awning would be permanently stained. My best cleaning results came from mineral spirits. I have also had good luck with WD-40 followed by dish soap.

Brush or cloth

Hi we're newbies and just washed our international serenity. Thought we got a soft enough brush but it looks like there are fine scratches. Hopefully wax will take them out?

Thumbs up Dawn is for Ducks...

If you use any type of wax, sealer or walberstuff, a grease cutting dish soap will soon render it gone.

Any good car wash soap designed for a waxed/sealed surface is best.

mop on a stick has worked since the AS was new, never a scratch.

My dried on bug splatters are proving difficult. Any suggestions other than don't let them get dried on?

Thanks,
