This question in with regards to the process on BARE aluminum!
I've read and re-read numerous posts and have become more and more confused by this... gasp
Okay - so, I don't want to work towards obtaining a mirror finish on my trailer at this time. But, I want to protect the BARE aluminum from (a) corrosion and (b) water stains, bird dropping and bugs. It seems that waxing is a good place to start.
I think waxing will result in swirl marks - just like the first process of polishing. Is that right? In my mind, I'm thinking that I'll work for hours waxing to get a consistent sheen and it will, essentially, turn into a polishing job. What is wrong with my thinking? Obviously, I haven't done much waxing, even on my vehicles
so I'm not certain what to expect.
I tried to locate some spray on wax --- like you see in the automatic car wash places... push button XYZ for wash, button XYZ2 for wash and wax! I wasn't successful in finding that type of product. Autozone did have some car wash products with either carnumba wax or a synthetic wax in the solution.
So, can anyone help me understand how the PROCESS of my waxing my bare aluminum trailer will differ from polishing? Keep in mind, I have some anal/OCD tendencies!
