I bought a 78 Ambassador that has "TEXAS" on the back side panels in AS Blue. They are firmly attached and I really need to take them off to polish. I was wondering if any one has ever seen this. I dont know if the PO added the lettters or if it was something special. They look original but even though I'm a Texas gal I really dont like the look. They look to be cast out of metal. Im not sure how to get them off without denting or scratching the aluminum.
Some owners put their state names on their trailers. One member asked about his that had "TENNESSEE" on the side.
There is a slight ghost (too faint to be seen in photos, even) of letters in the blue stripe down the side of my 1983 Excella. At one time it said "TEXAS" there.
BTW, I can pronounce Boerne. I used to live between Wimberley and Driftwood.
Need some pictures...post some close ups if possible...
usually AS used rivets to attach that kind of stuff - our 78 Ambassador uses rivets for the cast 'Ambassador' name plates with the Red and Blue stripes, midway back on the trailer...
I had to carefully drill out those rivets when I cleaned and repainted those name plates - used sealing pop rivets to remount them...
