Did you compound after stripping the clearcoat?

you might not have aluminum that will take a shine. I am not certain what year the alloy was switched from 2024. I also think you should try compounding first with a polisher, then using the cyclo. I have been polishing for the past few days when ever I can and have about 40% done in the first cut. There are a few photos on my blog below. I was using Nuvite F7, but have switched to Diamond Brite tool box polish. It takes about 5 minutes to do one square foot... enough 5 minute squares and the whole trailer will be done.

It's looking good, Frank. Compared to what you've already done, this is the easy part.

Obviously, I've never polished before...

I've heard great things about Diamond Brite as well. AND it's cheap! $8-10 a bottle, at Lowes. I've used it to polish my Feathercraft (by hand), but not on the polisher yet. I'll have to try that next.

It's working for me... at least after Rob Baker learned me. I am not going for a mirror, so perfect polish is not what I want... even and shiny, once...
