Too cold to polish?

Hi guys,

I am just wondering if it is too cold to polish my trailer on a clear, crisp day that is only about 40* F (about 4*C)? I know that it can be too hot to polish and the polish dries too fast, but can it be too cold? I have a two week holiday starting next week and would love to get the trailer polished BEFORE the summer (so I can change my Avatar picture to a nice shiny trailer). Any comments are welcome.

I have polished my rig at or about 45 degrees F. So I'd give it a try! Isn't it always a good time to polish!!!

YES, it can be too cold to polish properly. You didn't say which type or make of polish compound that you had but, Nuvite says that the outside temp should be above the 60 degrees range before using it's product.
Several years ago, I tried to strech my polishing efforts into the month of Oct and, found first hand, when its cold out..you might as well give it up..The polishing compound doesn't work..It had gotten down to frost~!
Think Spring..it's only a few weeks away...

I have polished two Airstreams learning all the way. I found 55-70 was ideal temperature in Michigan. It seemed that below 55 didn't work. This was in the spring last year. My first polish job was done in 70-85 weather in late summer you could tell differance as temperature rose.(or was that just me?) In the shade is definately preferred!
