The Cyclo polisher - legend or myth?
In researching polishing (in anticipation of polishing the '75), I've noticed that the Cyclo polisher appears to be the de-facto standard for the finishing polish.
Before I lay down $300 big ones (more for us Canucks), I have to ask: What makes the Cyclo polisher superior over other dual random orbital polishers?
Any input is appreciated!

I watched a used cyclo go on ebay this week for $260. Appreciate the tip on where to buy a new one for reasonable money and also the leads to the websites. I suspect with two trailers in stock and a friend in hot pursuit of one for himself (he's come down with a case of aluminium fever)a new cyclo will get it's workout. I offered a local detailer $500 to tackle mine given it was done (mediocre job though) 4 years ago by a local Mercedes detailer and he was not even remotely interested in taking it on. Guess that means I take up the offer to BBQ steaks for the car club buddies, set the trailer in the shade one fine Saturday afternoon, and have at it. Barry

I'm never that lucky! As it is, I almost had a heart attack, after I ordered 2 order #'s came back! I emailed Robert Regan back on both e-mails I received. He responded and apologized for the mix up. Whew, only one is being shipped.
I've seen them on E-bay but they always go for crazy money in the end! One today went for $226, and it was used!

mine is very well built, you can tell it is a quality tool. good heft to it also, you do not need to push down on it much if at all.
the pads rotate very randomly leaving a nice finish with no swirls.
mind you, i just use mine for waxing not polishing. rickstream used his 5 dollar unit to polish the area over his front windows when we were replacing his window seals. the results were impressive just using 3m polishing compound.
i will defer to people who have actually polished an entire trailer for the real opinion!

OK, I've been muddling this over all night. What (the heck) is a badger steam and gas show? The mind whirls at the possibilities...
Personally I am hoping it's something like a trained animal show. It's just pleasing to think of armies of busy badgers playing with steam and gas (Wait, isn't steam a kind of gas?)! Now, can you please send those badgers over to my place to polish my trailer?

The Badger Steam and Gas Show in Baraboo (Wisconsin in known as the Badger State as the Badger is the state animal and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Mascot) is a steam and gas engine show - - a popular summer activity here in the Midwest - - they have a similar show in Pinckneyville, IL called the Threshermen's Reunion.

Hmm, and I thought it would be something like this. Oh well, at least it has lots of things that will go kerchunk and whirl (like your cyclos). Only wish there were busy lil' badgers who might like to holiday down south here...and maybe work on my old trailer...But I suppose that a badger is a burrowing and not polishing animal...I think I"m more badger than I thought and I've never been to WI!
