Hi

Depending a bit on who is in the trailer and how big they are .... Casita's go from tiny to unbearably tiny. There are a lot of other "starter" options out there. Since the decision is between a full up AS and a darn fancy MH .... I don't think a "starter trailer" is in the mix ...

Great discussion on this topic. I went from a popup to a 24' Winnebago Fuse. Love love love it. Plenty of room for two (no kids here) and a big dog and all the amenities and more than we need. Ford 450 Diesel and I'm getting 19-21 MPG. Drives like a dream; turns on a dime and while the clearance on one particular spot is only about 4" (a tail pipe) I've done quite a bit of boondocking over the last 13K miles in 18 months. Pull in, anywhere, "drop anchor", push out the slide (one button), push out the awning (one button) hook up the elec. and water if available and get out the cocktail glasses. I tow a Can Am Spyder F3T LTD on a Stinger Trailer for our toad.

This may be a bit off-topic, but when it comes to the discussion of Motor Homes vs Airstream trailers, don't forget that Airstream is Certified GREEN. This was important to us. We toured a whole bunch of Class A's on a 93degree day and damn near died from the fumes ...... we had been camping in a vintage 1957 Airstream Wanderer, and we then decided that we would stick with the Airstream Brand, and bought a 30foot International Serenity, and have lived full time in it since. No fumes, no outgassing. Happy customers.

Hi

Well, we seem to have covered a lot of bases from a lot of directions. It would be nice to hear from the OP and see if we are helping them make a decision or not.
