Stripping without water?

I would like to start polishing my '86 soverign, but here in Texas we are in a drought! Does anyone know of a stripper that I can use that does not need washed off? We are under strict water restrictions so washing at home is a big no-no.

I sure don't know any that are "rinse free".

Have you considered using an environmentally friendly stripper (Citri-Strip) at a DIY car wash? That would be tough...but it could work.

Only other option would be to relocate the trailer while stripping to someplace that doesn't have the water restrictions.

I just finished stripping ours here in NM, where water is also short. You don't really need much water to do the job. Once the stripper had done its job (just a few minutes), I used a soft dish brush to work the stripper while running a small amount of water over it, always running the faucet on trickle, just enough to carry away the gook. Per session, I'd guestimate maybe two or three gallons for a 4X4 section.

I thought about the car wash, but I was afraid I might mess up the finish on the tow vehicle.

It is so bad here that a hose in your yard can cost some major $$$$$ in fines!! I might have to wait a few years until the water ban is lifted (if ever). That will give the sun more time to loosen the plasticoat for me! 😄

Good of you to think ahead on that one...but that's an easy fix...pull the trailer in, disconnect and pull the tow vehicle out far enough away to be safe ~
