Are you not concerned about that reflection starting forest wild fires?

LOL, Peeps...
Gotta love the tweaky reflections on the ground!

Still giggling at who said that after they polished the interior skin in the bedroom of their Airstream...

Rivet motivation

I am very impressed with your hard work and results. I am on this board trying to find out what is recommended to be used to remove iron deposits from my '62 26' Overlander. It needs a lot of work, but just got it out of my parents 5 acre yard and into my own yard. I want to get the outside cleaned up before the neighbors start to complain. You have done a trememdous job. You seem to have all the right tools for the job, which Ive found makes the world of difference. Exellent thread. Ill post a thread for my work and try to keep it updated. I have a very few pictures of the trailer on my first (and only) thread. Im new to the entire forum community, and am still learning how to make the best use of its functions! Thanks again for all the information and motivation!

Thanks for the complements!
I too read a bunch of other threads for knowledge and motivation before I started... its then even more fun to start your own thread and post progress... which feeds both your own and others!
The shiny Aluminum snowball grows bigger by the week!

Yes, Massey... I am gonna have to smear it with something to be safe!

Not much progress this month as I need to concentrate on other stuff, but soon I will be back on it!

Thanks Paula!
Not done any polishing since last time, just mounted the badges and letters and somehow they make it look better! The contrast does it I think.

Yeas, new mirrors... the old ones are so bad they should have a warning on them!
The new ones are Velvacs, and I have only done one cos I have to make an adaptor plate for each one... The drivers side is done and the pass side is in progress.
More info on what I did Page 63 post #872 of my main motorhome resto thread.

I am curious to see what you will do with your lower ABS panels, since your quality standart seems to be very high and some of your repairs are outstanding. I have used fiberglass to do extensive repairs to those endcaps and after making sure the old paint was gone and the ABS was "open" my repairs lasted over ten years until I sold the Motor Home. The area under the front grill is a different story and I plan on using some aluminum panels this time to make it last and look better.

Well, Thankyou Peter!

My ABS panels are a mess...
I have holes, cracks and distortion front and rear as well as noting that they have been brush painted with what looks like latex...

My plan is thus:
Repair with ABS/MEK slurry and back that with fiberglass mat. One of the holes on the streetside rear is large, so I will have to add some ABS strips to back that to hold its form.
Then, longer term I am planning to take a mould off them and redo them in fiberglass. The front fairings on mine are the earlier style and I plan to do some mods to add a spoiler, some foglamp mount and maybe some brake cooling ducts.
