Ok, will try that next time...

Thanks Lewis, yes, it looks better every day!

A little progress yesterday...
Genset door got a dose of buffing... still more to do, but at least I got that tough yellow primer off, and gave it a beating with the wheel and Black Bar..
The upper vented part of the door is VERY flimsy and I cant lean on it at all!
The vents in the lower door have resisted my attempts to polish, asnd remained satin... I think I will leave them.... a contrast is fine!

Did some more on the upper body and over the cab roof..
Still having problems getting the old glue off the skin above the windows... its tough and old, and has resisted several types of stripper, acetone, MEK and everything else, and whilst the buffing will eventually get it off, its very time consuming!

Thans Paula!

So yesterday was a big day for the M/H... a move to a new storage.

It was awesome to see her out of the road and judging by the stares and comments she has an impact on people...
The most common one is.. "Wait, this is a Motorhome? I didnt know Airstream made a Motorhome like that!"

Anyway, I was pleased with the way the shine looks out on the street..
The swirls are much less noticable!

Yup, she is long...
I think because of the unusual interior configeration with no Dinette and therefore no windows in the mid body as all the others have.
That long section makes it look even longer!

So what do you have instead of a dinette?

Ok, small moves forward...

Stripped and tried to polish the Cast Aluminum badges and letters... it was a fail, as they just wont polish up well enough.

I went back to a brushed style of finish over satin black paint.

And here are the letter from the rear, doing some Anagram fun...

Quite a difference from what it looked like when you bought her, looks good. The tire cover and area around rear bumper must be plastic, whats your plan for that, chrome paint?

I bet Paula or any other woman would cry for that storage cabinet.

You could store lots of dinner outfits in that with no more wrinkles.

feels like I am slowly making progress!

The spare tire cover is vac formed ABS...
I already fixed all the cracks, splits, and holes where it had clearly fallen off and been dragged by the brake light cable...I fixed it with ABS/MEKslurry and pretty much sanded it out ready for paint, but held off BECAUSE I have not chosen a color yet...
Before Pic..

Hole in the top edge..

I am thinking I will go with a Bright Silver Metalic for the cover and the front and rear ABS fairings.

The closet is huge, but I plan on pulling it out and putting a dinette or J couch ther longer term...

I shot this pic off the front balcony when I arrived with the Airstream back home in April 2010..

And whilst I forgot to take the same shot off the balcony, the similar angle shot last week makes me feel good!
