I've known of some people making good money polishing wheels and bumpers and gas tanks

Yes, there are services for that. Our drivers were very proud of their trucks, so occasionally they'd hire a worker to come out and do the tanks and rims. They use a power buffer and compound, and when they're done, the rims shine and the workers are covered in black oxidation.

I was approached in my MH in a truck stop. I hated to tell the guy that my stainless trim was just covers over the steel rims.

It looks great and I envy your ambition. I do however feel you might be unpleasantly surprised when you rotate those wheels after several thousand miles. The back side will not be pretty.

Guess I'll get the Eastwood SCT either way

I'll at a minimum finish stripping everything, finish a first pass polish on the panel I've started, and experiment/evaluate with different looks and see if I can blend it good enough or find a brushed look we like

Worst case I just polish it all out again
