Although I will likely haul the trailer up the road to Hanover, PA. and have 1st Impressions strip and polish it (see Frank's Blog Posting... Frank's Trailer Works Blog: Another 10 at 5
) but, I may take a shot at the end caps in the time being.
Most of my trailer is still in pretty good shape, but the end caps bug me every time I look at them. I thought about perhaps going "two tone" for a while (strip the end caps, leave the rest intact). My main question is: how hard is it to spot strip, in particular, can you remove the stripper without water, thereby hopefully not stripping the area below the end caps? Can you wipe it off with paper or disposable towels?
FYI: One of my problems is that I live in a downtown "urban" area /historic district. I am lucky that I have a nice big area behind my house that I rent for parking the AS etc., however I think the folks would frown on me washing stripper off on to their property, biodegradable or not. The area that I park on is gravel so it is not like I can sweep it up.
Another question, when you strip/polish the end caps, do you remove the "Airstream" decals or do you work around them. It would seem that it would be easier to remove them and then replace them (if one desires, and I think I would) with new ones.
