Simple cleaning

I just got my airstream a month ago. Not going to even think about the polishing thing for a while. I'm sticking to the very basics for now. Could anybody tell me what is the best product to clean the outside of my airstream and what not to use. I have some old glue on the top of my front window that was left over from a old rock gaurd. What is the best thing to use to remove it. Thanks for the help.

Congrats on the "new" AS. Is there a clear coat still on the skin. If so no need to worry. If the clear coat is not there then the biggest thing to stay away from is anything with ammonia (but that is more for a polished AS) the ammonia will speed up the oxidation. I like simple green for tar and glue. WD 40 will take it off as well, but I would only do small area at a time with that. What kind of glue is it? (hard or soft) IF the whole trailer is really dirty you can consider finding a big truck wash and have a citrus wash done. It is a mild acid wash made from Citrus that will take much of the dirt and tarnish off (no where close to polished but it will help in the polishing process.)

Good Luck

Thanks for the help. I will try the Simple green. The glue is soft and shouldn't be difficult to remove. I'm a rookie at this and didn't want to damage anything. Thanks

Simple Green, staight from the bottle. Do small areas and rinse with clean water after a couple of minutes. Rotate the nozzle to the spray position on the bottle Did every surface in my 26' Argosy in little more than a day. It looks and smells great.
