Needed to remove rust from undercarriage. I also wanded to know the condition of the frame that supports the axles. Messy job. Suggestions: Before you start get a firm estimate . Seal up everything especially around the wheel wells. Mask everything with duck tape that you don't want done. Secure all windows. Wrap up all the wheels to prevent dust from entering the brakedrum. Line up all the materials you will use. Paint, solvent, tools, rags, etc. Weather? Your choice!
Immediately coat the surface with what ever system you use to prevent the accumulation of further rust. Messier job . I used rusty metal paint. Remember that's about all the painting you can do at their location. Needs a second coat. then I will finish with undercoating. It won't be perfect but it is better than before.
I was charged $65/hour Plus cost of material. Paid about $280 total. Tried to scam me. Wanted 6 hours but I refused to pay and the bill was reduced. The actual time sand blasting was about 2 hours. During the off time I was jacking up the trailer and removing wheels. Others wanted $100/hour. I was pleased that at least the job was done. Unless you have a good stomach and are in good health don't do it!
There is Something Worse than Dying--- That is NOT LIVING !!!
PERFECT Trailer- Dog loves it- Wife hates it!!! You're not camping until you're miserable!
