Roof paint removal...

Starting to think about refinishing our 1994 Excella 34. The white finish on the roof is pretty cruddy looking, and I have noticed that some of the restorations I have seen have the finish removed. I haven't seen anything explicitly going thru what it takes to remove it. The same stripper as the clear coat?

Thanks!

I sanded mine carefully till all the chaulky paint was gone and then painted it with Supertherm which is a heat repelling ceramic paint. My trailer is much cooler in full sun with this finish.

If the roof paint isn't peeling, scuff it with 400 grit (360 will do on a white roof) and repaint.

If it is peeling or flaking, strip it chemically. Most paint will yield to stripper but not all.

But if you are going to strip the clear with chems, it will be difficult to protect the white so you might just strip it off all at the same time if it strips well.

Wow, sounds great! Is that the Multiceramics coating? Expensive? Did you roll it on? Use their RustVaccine to prime?
