An Airstream Song

I'm so sick of tarnish.

I lost my clear coat varnish.

My trailer is milky and white.

Id rather it was shiney and brite.

(second verus, same as the first,
a little louder, and a little worse)

Update

Like anyone but me really cares .... the polishing is now 90%
done ... Will add some new pics soon. I have found this endevor
to be a most addictive and Zenlike an experience. After gloriously
experiencing all four grade of Nuvite, I get joy by wiping off rain spots and polishing .... repolishing ..... polishing again ... such a life ......

Nuvite, Rolite how about....

I just started my 67 Caravel. I went to a trucking supply store. You know those big shiney milk trucks well they use a product called "what a shine" it comes in 3 grades for oxyidation. I bought the mildest grade and it works like a dream, by hand no less. A trick an old trucker told me was to use a little flour on the wiping pad to easily remove the black stuff...it works!

sure we care. well, at least I do!

can't wait to see the pix....

Ya know, I was wondering about those "milk trucks"...one goes by my house every day, just about. (dairy farm next door). I didn't know whether or not they were stainless, aluminum, or what....and i can't imagine they go to the lengths ($$$) that AS owners do to keep them that shiney...yet they look perfect. Tell us more about this stuff......

More info on "what a shine"

Well the guy at Pacific Truck Parts, Salinas CA said this is what all the truckers use on their aliuminum, it works on any metal but you are not to use it on painted surfaces. It costs $11.00 for a bottle but it goes a long way. I tried using it with an electric buffer but it is messy and putting it on by hand does a better job. I will post photos as soon as I get it done.

White Walls !!

Hey Susan,

A number of people on the board would be interested in where you got your white walls from. I thought I saw a thread about this before without many answers. Gee at least I would like to know!

Whitewall tires

I got the whitewalls from Coker Tire. coker.com they are very nice and shipped quickly. On another subject does anyone know of a way to fix those interior lights, they are supposed to swivel around but all mine are worn out and just hang there, very annoying.
