porter cable 7424xp dual action polisher

has anyone used this polisher instead of the cyclo to do the final polish job. I have heard it gets the swirls out, can anyone comment on this?

My auto goods supplier (since 1996) has a random non-orbital and supplies for painted vehicles. I have not asked them about polishing raw metal though: Check out their info.

I've got one and I tried it last night to get rid of the swirl marks made by heavy polish and my 7" grinder polisher. While it did remove the swirl marks and left a nice even coat, the shine isn't as "deep" as I'd like. So, while it's still very nice, it's "dull".

I'm going to experiment with some more pads today and see if I can do any better.

Thumbs up Welcome Aboard....

I've used the PC orbital to wax, seal the AS. Has also worked well on small OOP's scratches but I'm not sure it has the "cutting" power to handle a serious polishing job.
I think a variable speed rotary or the cyclo would be a quicker choice.
