Polishing Service in DFW Area
I am looking for someone in the DFW area who can polish my Airstream. Preferably someone who provides mobile service. I am currently full timing in my trailer and can not afford to be without it for four to five weeks.

You may call A&P Vintage Trailer Works in Paradise at 817-919-3651. If Paul doesn’t do it, he may know someone who does. Good luck, Bubba

Can't speak for DFW. But someone once told me look for small airports nearby that have experience with polishing aluminum planes.

Thanks Bubba, I was actually going to call them about refurbishing another trailer I have. Have they done any work for you before?

They have not done any work for me personally. We met the Mayeuxs at a vintage rally a couple of years ago where he conducted a seminar. Bubba

Almost forgot. Also try Kelly Booker at RV Renovators in Glen Rose, Tx at 682-719-0411 (shop) or 254-396-7300 (cell). Bubba

DFW Texas area Polisher question
If you are still looking, I have a guy to recommend. Found his name from another forum member. Check out X-Treme Aluminum Polishing and detail; North Fort Worth. John Alverez cell 817-706-4351. He just yesterday completed polishing out my 34' Excella Classic. John is so dedicated to doing a good job and loves the work. Cannot say enough good things about him and his people and my satisfaction with his work. He has a large warehouse with several bays. Been doing this for years. All work done inside; you are encouraged to check in with him as work progresses anytime. He gave me a timeframe and completed ahead of time. He is reasonable and takes pride in his work. Does a lot of big rigs and trailers as well. If I can figure out how to insert an image from my cell phone I will. My computer skills are lacking a bit; He only does one airstream at a time. Good guy. check him out. Jim

More photos?
Is it truly mirror finish?
What did he charge?

BambiTex I don't know that I said it was a "mirror finish". When I walked up to it I was looking at reflection so all I can say is that the work he did satisfied me. FYI as a side note, I had already attempted to polish out one side myself. I got all the tools and polishing equipment myself and still have them but it proved to me more work than I wanted to tackle myself at my age. I have a real feel for how much one has to do polish out a trailer and provide the product they did. Sorry I don't have any more photos right after it was done other than the one I managed to attach. Cost wise, I think a rule of thumb is it cost around a $100/ft but you would just have to negotiate your own deal.

Thanks for the referral and the photo, griffithj ... that's a LOT of trailer to polish! It looks great. I'm going to give John a call -- his shop is 10 minutes from my house. Mine hasn't been polished in 12 years, and spent half of that time living outside, so it could definitely use some attention.

You are right; 34' is a lot! Mine also sits out all the time; no shed. And i well know what a job it is because I have all the polishing equipment and worked on one side of it couple of years ago. Too much for my old bones to handle so was glad when I found Xtreme. I am in Colleyville so he was handy for me also. Good luck; Jim
