We just purchased a 1989 29’ Excella with a bad case of top sunburn (also peeling decals). The interior is great but we want to improve the exterior look. So far, I have spoken with several polishers around the country and the consensus price is around $10k. If that wasn’t enough, everyone has told me that once polished, I will be paying for new polishing on a regular basis. Is there an option I’m missing? DIY is out of the question. Thoughts? Thanks.

Once stripped and polished, it will have to be "touched up" every couple years. Ideally gone over every spring. You could have it clear coated immediately after the Polish, but it will lose some of that shine you're going to get addicted to. $10k sound high, I was told a shop near the airstream factory in Ohio charges $150/ft (under $5000), but I did mine myself.
The "repolish" goes easier than the first time.

Thanks for the response. The Airstream recommended shop in Ohio quoted me about $300 per foot. I guess the price went up. Anyone know of someone in Florida with a good rep and reasonable prices?

The other option is to purchase the equipment and get to work.I polished the 75 TW I owned in about 80 hours the first time. Every year I would put about 40 additional hours in keeping it looking good. Last year I sold the trailer and the polish job did increase the value.

Their is a fellow on Facebook (Airstream Addicts I believe) in Coleman Florida that is polishing Airstreams. I sent a message about my 31' Sovereign and was given a price of 3,100.00. I believe his name is Barker Yai.
